Disc Jockeys

Please keep in mind that you will want your DJ, Band or musician in place prior to the ceremony IF they will be providing music for the ceremony as well as the reception.

If you choose to hold your wedding and reception in separate places, then you will need to discuss logistics with whomever you choose to provide music for your event. Not all Disc Jockeys or bands are willing to move from one venue or one location to another. These are considerations you should consider when choosing your venue.

You should ensure that whomever does your music has a complete list of the songs you would like played as certain people enter. Remember that your music sets the tone of the event.

If the DJ, Band or musician will not be providing the music for the wedding portion of your event, please meet with the venue to ensure they have an adequate sound system and medium to play the music you provide.

You will need music for the following:

  • Ceremony music (played as guests arrive)
  • Processional (signals the beginning of the ceremony and accompanies the bridal party)
  • The bridal entry song
  • Interlude music (featured songs played or sung during specific moments of the ceremony, rings, unity candle, moment of prayer, etc)
  • Recessional (for the walk back up the aisle of the happy couple)
  • Postlude (music played while guests exit the wedding area)
  • Reception music (dinner music)
  • First Dance
  • Father and Daughter, Mother and Son dances
  • The Last Dance
